Well, it’s been a while since our last update.
Last October I got a job as a captain for AET Offshore in Galveston, TX. This opportunity to do some tentmaking while we build Seven Seas Ministries has been a real blessing. Unfortunately, I have only had a very little time off since October. My schedule is supposed to be 28 days on / 14 days off. However, I have only had 3 full 14 day off cycles since October due to personnel changes within the company. It is our hope that my schedule will steady out and allow me plenty of time to work on Seven Seas.
Until we grow sufficiently large to get our own ship, it is our plan to begin to use our resources to assist missionaries in shipping their supplies commercially. I have begun contacting different shipping agencies and hope to form some relationships that will be beneficial to the Missionary organizations that we have been in contact with thus far.
In Exodus 4, Moses is trying to excuse himself from God’s call. He tells God that he is unequipped, doesn’t have the resources, to do what God has called him to do. In Exodus 4:2, God asks, “What is that in your hand?” All Moses had in his hand was a staff. A dried up stick. How on earth was this a resource that could result in God’s children being released from Egypt? Well, If you read the story, you find that God used what was in Moses’ hand to accomplish his purpose.
We currently have some things in our hand. We have some funds, some knowledge, and some faith. If I were to dictate the resources necessary for Seven Seas to accomplish God’s purpose from my own mind, my list would be a bit more extensive. But God says that with faith like a mustard seed great things can be accomplished. So we are making these things we have in our hand available to God, so that He can accomplish His purpose.
It is our desire to be obedient to His direction, faithful to His calling, and submitted to and in-tune with His will. Please continue to pray for us as we follow God in this effort to see missionaries amply supplied so that they can perform every good work they are called to do.

As you know, Haiti has been hit hard this year with hurricanes. Our contacts there have been largely spared from the destruction but are now in a position to be a blessing to others in Haiti who were not so fortunate. So we continue to see the need confirmed for the ministry for which Seven Seas was founded. There are currently 24,000 lbs. of palletized cargo that have been donated to folks in Haiti. But they have no immediate way to get it there. We feel a great deal of frustration, knowing that if we had our vessel in place, we could meet this need immediately. But God’s timing is perfect and His provision is complete so we will continue to do all that we can do and trust Him to do what only he can do. We have made contacts with an organization in Fort Liberte; and I believe that it would be possible to ship straight there if we can find a vessel. I am continuing to seek a vessel that might be donated or loaned or chartered for a reasonable price. I am also seeking monetary donations that might enable us to help ship the supplies commercially if necessary.
Please join us as we pray, believing that God will provide the means to meet this challenge. We believe that this is an opportunity for Seven Seas Ministries and the entire body of Christ to pour out God’s love on the people of Haiti. We’d love for you t be a part. Any information on vessels or opportunities for us to present this need to specific churches or potential donors would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your support!

Well it’s official. The IRS has officially recognized us as a public charity under internal revenue code 501(c)3. We have been operating under the provision that allows you to claim tax exempt status pending your IRS determination. You can go for 24 months in that mode before you have to have attained IRS approval. It is good to have that out of the way.
Now that we have officially achieved our 501(c)3 status, we are preparing a mailout to everyone we believe may be interested in what we are doing. If you would like to be added to our mailing list, please contact us.

Hi all, It’s been a while since we have posted. We have been out of the country since January. While away, we delivered six desktop computers and 99 shirts to Danita’s Children in Haiti. We docked in the Dominican Republic and traveled overland into Haiti.

Well it is a new year and time for Seven Seas Ministries to get our website up and running. So, here it is. We have been busy for the past 4 months getting the ministry set up. Today begins a new year and ushers in a new phase in the ministry.
Up till now John and Shirley have been getting their personal affairs in order and laying ground work for the ministry. Now they are preparing to embark on the early transportation and research phase as they identify the needs of missionaries and what process is most effective for delivering cargo through the twists and turns of the customs importation laws and officials of different countries. They purchased a large sailboat to live on and transport them to the mission field and are embarking this month with a load of computers and shirts for Danita’s Children.
We have been provided with an opportunity to carry these materials that have been donated by some gentlemen in Oklahoma City to the island of Hispaniola. Upon arriving in the Dominican Republic we will transport the supplies across the border into Ouanaminthe, Haiti where Danita’s orphanage and school are located. Please be praying for us as we take this next step in the vision and growth of Seven Seas Ministries and God’s kingdom.
